About
Engr. Ernesto Canalita and Mrs. Estela Canalita conceptualized Divine Grace School in 1987. The couple proposed three names for the institution, and Divine Grace School was ultimately approved by the Bureau of Domestic Trade. The name reflects the founders’ belief in the Divine Creator as the guiding force behind all endeavors.
The school received its permit from the Department of Education, Culture and Sports in 1987 to offer Preschool education. The following year, DGS expanded into elementary education and completed the elementary course by 1990.
Recognizing the growing need for secondary education, the founders established the High School Department. A new building was constructed across the main campus and was initially utilized by the Preschool Department. Government recognition to offer a complete secondary course was granted in 1995.
Beginning with only 22 students, DGS experienced rapid growth in enrollment over the succeeding years. To maintain quality education, the institution continuously expanded its facilities, classrooms, and educational resources.
Today, DGS remains committed to providing meaningful, holistic, and values-oriented education that develops students mentally, socially, spiritually, and physically.
